Page Count & Signatures
What is a Signature?
For offset book projects, the total page count must be in multiples of 4. Depending on the final trim size of your project, it is usually more cost effective to have either 8 or 16 increments of page counts. Be sure to count every page, front and back, and include blanks if used.
A signature is a two-sided press sheet containing multiples pages which have been folded and trimmed to the final project size. The number of pages in a signature depends on your project size and the size of the press sheet it can fit on. These signatures are stacked, trimmed and bound to create a finished product.
